Senior Capstone Project: "Dos/Two" – A Bilingual Children's Picture Book

For my senior capstone, I had the incredible opportunity to collaborate with Hipocampo Children's Books, LLC, an independent woman/Latinx-owned bookstore in Rochester, NY, dedicated to promoting diverse children's literature. I partnered with the store’s owner, a soon-to-be-published author, to help develop their first bilingual children's picture book titled "Dos/Two". This book is aimed at K-2 readers and celebrates the cultural richness of Western New York through both English and Spanish.

As team lead, I oversaw the creation of the main illustrations and storyboards for the book, while also managing a talented team that helped bring the project to life. In addition to producing the book, we are developing an accompanying digital bilingual learning software designed to enhance language acquisition and literacy, specifically for English as a Second Language (ESL) learners. The project also includes the production of an animated version of the book, as well as a comprehensive marketing campaign for the product's release.
